The UWRF Prospect Weekend Beef Show is an Junior Steer & Open Heifer Show.

Entry fee is $50/animal pre-entry or $75/animal late entry.

Check-in times will be Friday April 25 from 5:30-8:00 pm; Saturday, April 26th from 8:00-10:00 am; and Sunday, April 27th from 6:30-7:30 am, No Exceptions.

Animals may only go through the chute one time. Please have your paperwork prepared.

Steers and heifers must have original registration papers to show in breed classes. All tattoos must match and be legible, but papers don’t have to be in the exhibitor’s name. Animals that don’t match registration papers will show in the crossbred/commercial division. Must have original registration papers, Simmentals can show electronic copies (faxes, letters, copies, etc. will NOT be accepted)

Out of state cattle must present health papers meeting WI requirements. Visit http://www.datcp.state.wi.us for more information. ALL out of state (Steers & Heifers) cattle must have OFFICIAL ID tags-Tattoos matching registration papers DO NOT QUALIFY. Visit DATCP for ID rules and other current health requirements.

All steers must be born after January 1, 2024

Market steers and market heifers will be shown by breed and weight.

Top 3 crossbred Steers will be selected to be eligible for top 5 awards.

All heifers must be born after September 1, 2023

Heifers will show by breed and age; commercial heifers will show by weight.

Heifers can only show as a breeding heifer or market heifer, NOT BOTH. Once the heifer is checked in she cannot switch divisions.

A minimum of 4 entries are required to maintain a breed division. Any breed with less than 4 entries will show in the AOB division.

Exhibitors must provide their own bedding, bark or shavings are preferred. Exhibitors are asked to keep bedding clean of garbage and to pull bedding away from walls when leaving.

The use of generators is encouraged but are NOT allowed in barns.

All payouts will be prorated.

The show committee reserves the right to interpret & mandate rules as needed.

You are responsible for getting to the show ring on time. We will make barn calls, but we will not search for you in the barn.

Animals deemed unruly, unsafe, or dangerous will be asked to leave the grounds.

The UWRF Prospect Weekend Committee is not liable for injuries or losses.
