The UWRF Prospect Weekend Lamb Show is a Junior Commercial Ewe and Prospect Market Lamb show.

Open to any individuals 21 and under as of January 1, 2025.

Check-in starts on Friday, April 25th from 5:00pm-7:00pm and continues on Saturday, April 26th 6:30am – 8:30am

Show will starting at 9:00am.

Animals may only go through the chute one time. Please have your paperwork prepared.

Lambs will be what they weigh in at

All lambs will be classified and checked for any sign of disease when weighing in.

Any evidence of sore mouth, ringworm, foot rot, pink eye, wool fungus or other contagious diseases will disqualify the entire trailer and they will be asked to leave.

Out of state animals must present health papers meeting WI requirements. Visit http://www.datcp.state.wi.us for more information. Visit DATCP for ID rules and other current health requirements.

All out of state lambs must have health papers and be individually identified on the health certificates and state animals are “Free of Disease”

Showmanship will be for the ages of 21 and under as of January 1, 2025. There will be five age divisions, Beginner (Ages 9 & under), Junior (Ages 10-12), Intermediate (Ages 13-15), Senior (Ages 16-18), Collegiate (Ages 19-21).

Registration must be done on the showman app prior to the show. After weighing in your animals you must still check in at the check in table.

Market classes- to be split by breed & weight, with breeds being Hampshire, Dorset Speck, Natural, Southdown, Crossbred.

Commercial Ewe Show - Ewes will be classified by white face and black face cross, then be split up by weight.

There is no limit to the number of animals entered by one person.

Awards given for class winners and breed champions prorated based on entries.

Show officials reserve the right to make the final interpretation of the show rules.

The show committee reserves the right to interpret & mandate rules as needed.

You are responsible for getting to the show ring on time. We will make barn calls, but we will not search for you in the barn.

Animals deemed unruly, unsafe, or dangerous will be asked to leave the grounds.

The UWRF Prospect Weekend Committee is not liable for injuries or losses.
